Yosemite Getaway (Day Three!)

Here is the last of my Yosemite photo spills! 🙂 It was pretty sad to leave the beautiful and homey cabin that hosted us during the trip, but I was also pretty excited for the drive back. I actually really like long car rides. Any long span of transportation is welcome by me; it’s a period of suspension time where I don’t feel like I could do anything productively anyway and thus don’t feel any pressure whatsoever. I usually pass the time listening to my music, singing along to the radio very off-tunely (to the angst of my family), and looking outside the window dreaming up story or film plots.

Yosemite National Park (Day One)

2014 // a year of progression

We all like to reflect at the end of the year and find a way to grasp all the quickly-passing snapshots of previous year. Yesterday night, I came back from an amazing family trip to Yosemite. As I sat on my bed writing in my journal, I realized I never did a in-depth reflection of 2014. I began to flip through the pages. Some entries I read with the sadness a parent might feel when seeing their children go through hardships, knowing and dreading what would come next in the sequence of events. Some entries I read with a feeling of euphoric throwback. As I was reading, I would close my eyes and remember various moments of the past year. I reminisced riding home at night in a taxi in a faraway country, feeling the warm wind whip through my salon-straightened hair. I smiled thinking of all the special dates like birthdays and Christmas that I spent with loved ones. I recollected playing piano in a beautiful chapel in Massachusetts. I remembered relaxing in my best friends backyard, feeling as if we were transcending the grasp of ticking time. I remember snapshots of people’s smiles, fragments of their countless kind words, encouragement, and kindness. As I read back on entries, I rediscovered so many subtle intricacies that I had experienced. Here’s a post to my beautiful 2014!
