telephone lines and unsettling silence

I took this montage around this time last year while sitting in the car with my old boyfriend. I was looking back through some old pictures on my phone and found this, and I just watched it for quite a while. I think there’s something so beautiful in the streak of light near the horizon, and the quiet passing of the cars. Seeing things like this make me really nostalgic, and leave me with a strange sort of heaviness. I don’t really know what else I can say about this, other than “I think there should be an Adele song playing in the background.”

I wish I were a good photographer so I could capture the quiet yet beautiful essence of moments like these better. The best I have for now is writing, which is pretty good, since words can be amazing on their own.

Sorry for the delay in posts! I have a lot, just haven’t had the time to organize and post them yet. Thanks for staying tuned,

Fall/Winter Wishlist

Hey everyone!!
Fall is sneaking up quickly. Can you believe summer came and went so quickly!?! I can still almost smell the flowers and feel some remainder of the lazy heat. :-/
Hopefully next summer I can be in Shanghai again!!

Anyway, I thought I would make a list of some fashion items I want for the coming fall and winter seasons.

Japanese “Seventeen” Magazine outfit reconstructions! (Round two ;)

My friend Tiffany and I decided to make some use of our closets and gigantic collections of Japanese fashion/beauty magazines, so we got together and did a set of Seventeen (Japan) outfit reconstructions! We will probably continue doing these with different outfits from different issues. I want to also recreate some outfits from Vivi and Popteen. Beware: Hilarious editing ahead!

First Outfit ! I had a lot of similar style clothing in my closet, so I saw this outfit and was like yes.

Clothing:

Blouse- Korean boutique

Necklace- Forever 21

Shorts- Guess

Belt- Forever 21

Shoes- Ross

Bag- present

Bracelets- China

Second Outfit! I love love love her outfit so much, but since I didn’t have the exact same elements in my closet, I had to go with similar pieces. I think the black lace with the frilly blue shorts (skirt in my case) are such a sweet touch. 🙂

Third Outfit! This outfit is sooo adorable and very delicate and girly. I would not wear this in public (at least not around in my city) but I still it nonetheless. Basically everyone in Japan has a straw, picnic basket style bag. (I should jump on that hype.)
